Barb Mackraz has over 20 years of experience working with high-profile Silicon Valley companies and global enterprise clients. Her contributions have ranged from product strategy, planning, and definition to user experience design for voice, web, and desktop. |
Most recently, Barb was a founding member of the Tellme Networks design team in 2000, and for 5 years planned and designed many of Tellme’s flagship applications. Her work touched the broad scope of the company’s offering, from the consumer content portal 1-800-555-TELL to complex information applications for Tellme’s most valued enterprise clients.
Also at Tellme, Barb led data analysis that drove client strategies on key accounts, directed the design of travel products, designed the data-reporting extranet and web Address Book, and ran usability tests and post-launch analysis on applications that handle thousands of calls every day. As a core early contributor, she also wrote the company design standards. In recent years, Barb has led innovations in personalization and adaptive interfaces.
Before 2000, Barb consulted for Apple, Adobe, Claris, Approach, Pointcast, and other companies large and small. Among her projects were desktop user interfaces, web product tips, user education, information architecture, interactive help for a handheld product, and company style and user interface guidelines. Even before the web, she was busy making information clear, relevant, and findable, and was principal writer for the first Apple publications style guide (expanded since then, but still following its original form).
Today, at Mackraz Design we work with a network of talented designers, developers, artists, audio producers, and other innovators, and pull together the right team for the project.
